Senator Eric J. Tarr is a husband of more than 36 years, father of three, West

Virginia State Senator representing District 4 (serving since January 2019), a seasoned entrepreneur and physical therapist. He holds a Bachelor of Health Science, an MBA, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Tarr founded and owns Generations Physical Therapy (established 1997) and serves as managing member/founder of the Eric J. Tarr Family Businesses, along with interests spanning more than 30 businesses across roughly 10 industries including physical therapy, fitness centers, real estate development, retail, auto dealer franchising, B2B consulting, secure storage, and other ventures. He previously served as president of the West Virginia Physical Therapy Association and has held adjunct clinical faculty roles at institutions including West Virginia University, Marshall University, and the University of Kentucky.

In the legislature, Tarr has contributed leadership on health, finance, technology,

economic development, and related committees, including having chaired the West Virginia State Senate Committee on Finance. He brings a practical business perspective shaped by starting and scaling enterprises in West Virginia as well as advising companies in the fortune 100 range in political landscape, with prior policy advisory experience supporting Senate health and majority leadership. Community involvement has included service with the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, and professional associations.

As a board member of Templar Titan—a global risk-mitigation and security solutions firm founded in 2002 by a former U.S. Navy SEAL—Tarr contributes governance insight drawn from entrepreneurship, multi-industry operations, public-policy experience, and health-sector leadership. Templar Titan delivers consulting, training, executive protection, crisis/contingency planning, threat assessments, and related services to governments, corporations, and private clients, emphasizing timely, tailored responses in complex or austere environments. His addition supports the firm’s multi-disciplinary approach and network of specialized expertise.
